Usman ibn Affan was born in 574 AD from the class of the Umayyads. Her mother's name is Kuriz bin Arwa bint Rabiah. He converted to Islam on the invitation of Abu Bakr and belonged to the al-As-Sabiqun Awwalun (the ones who first embraced Islam).

On Friday 18 Dhu al-Hijjah 35 AH, the rebels managed to enter his house and killed Uthman while he was reading Quran. He was buried in Medina.
